Cookie Policy

Last updated: February 10, 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Femlify uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) when you visit femlify.com or use the Femlify dashboard, parent portal, CBT module, or mobile applications.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device that let a website remember information about your visit — like whether you're logged in, or what language you prefer. For a school platform like Femlify, cookies do a quiet but important job: they keep a bursar's session active while reconciling fees, keep a student's CBT exam stable during a network hiccup, and keep a parent securely logged into the portal between visits.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data.

"Cookies aren't glamorous, but they're the reason a teacher doesn't get logged out halfway through entering a class's results."

2. Cookies

2.1 Types of cookies we use

We group our cookies into two categories: Mandatory (Strictly Essential) cookies, which keep the platform functional and secure, and Optional (Performance & Analytics) cookies, which help us improve Femlify over time.

Mandatory Cookies (Strictly Essential)

These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.

  • Authentication: Identifies you when you log in. This ensures that when a student, parent, or teacher moves from the "Results" page back to the "Dashboard," they stay logged in.
  • Security: These cookies help protect against unauthorized access and maintain the integrity of our Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Session Management: Crucial for the CBT (Computer-Based Test) module. These ensure your exam session remains active and stable even if your connection flickers.
  • Load balancing: Helps route your requests to the right server so the dashboard loads quickly and reliably during peak periods (e.g., resumption week or result release).

Optional Cookies (Performance & Analytics)

These help us improve Femlify but are not strictly required for the system to work.

  • Performance Analytics: These help us see which features (e.g., Attendance vs. Billing) are used most frequently so we can prioritize future updates.
  • Feature Awareness: We may use these to suggest features relevant to your school type (e.g., highlighting K-12-specific tools).
  • Marketing cookies (website only): Used on femlify.com (not the dashboard) to understand how prospective schools find us, such as which blog post or ad led to a sign-up.

2.2 Full list of cookies

2.3 Similar technologies

In addition to cookies, we may use:

  • Local storage: To temporarily cache CBT exam answers on a student's device in case of connectivity loss, ensuring no answers are lost mid-exam.
  • Pixels/web beacons: On marketing emails (e.g., product update newsletters) to understand open rates — used only for website visitors who have opted into marketing communications, not for in-platform parent/student/staff communications.

3. Your choices

You have several ways to manage cookies:

  • Cookie banner: When you first visit femlify.com, you can accept or customize optional cookies via our cookie banner.
  • Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Instructions vary by browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
  • Opting out of analytics: You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Marketing cookies: You can decline marketing cookies on femlify.com without affecting your ability to browse the site or request a demo.

Note: Blocking mandatory cookies will prevent you from logging into your Femlify dashboard, completing a CBT exam, or accessing portal features. We recommend only disabling Optional cookies if you wish to limit tracking, while keeping Mandatory cookies enabled for the platform to work correctly.
